Deputy Defense Minister Major (Retired) Derrick Oduro has giving out a public notice that anyone who intend to attend the swearing in of the President elect Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo-Addo’s occasion tomorrow should have accreditation to enter or else the person will be denied entry in a way to control the spread of the pandemic Convid 19 in the country .

His Excellent Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo-Addo was declared by the Electoral Commission chairperson Madam Jean Mensah as the next President Elect of the Republic of Ghana although there have being issue of Court petition submitted from the opposition party NDC to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile the swearing in of the President elect is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 7th January 2021.

In an exclusive Interview with Wontumi Radio/Tv morning Show the Deputy Defence Minister Major Retired Derrick Oduro has Stated that anyone who don’t have Accreditation should stay home and watch TV because that person will be denied entry. He said “If you don’t have accreditation no entry due to the spread of the virus people should sit home and watch their Television as a measure in controlling the spread of the Corona Virus pandemic. Due to the virus the usual venue for this occasion has being changed and it has being brought to the forecourt of the parliamentary house rather than the independent square”

Major Retired Derrick Oduro added that “We are swearing in the Mps at 12midnight which is the 7th parliament and it will be dissolved at 12 midnight for the 8th parliament to be sworn in”

The Deputy Defence Minister added that this occasion is the busiest duty the security agencies have had so as to make it a smooth event at the end of the day. He said “From today to the time the president will be sworn in is the busiest work moment during all our working times. Heads of states and other dignitaries are coming to the event so we are tightening our security services with 6,000 security personnels to be deployed at the day of event. We are doing it in an international standard because there are alot of dignitaries coming to grace the event”

He added that “Security service are not being tightening only for the president swearing in event alone but in our various cities, towns and areas as well. We won’t let terrorism have their way in Ghana Because Ghanaians security is our first priority”

Major Retired Derrick Oduro rated His Excellency Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo-Addo 4 year governance 80%. He said “The security in Ghana was not in good shape before the tenure of Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo-Addo but now alot of equipments to help the security agencies have being putting in place such as increase in their salaries, buses for the military and police agency, CCTV cameras and other things that is helping the security agencies. I will give His Excellent Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo-Addo 80% for the work he did at the security agencies”

He added that every Ghanaian citizen should stay out of trouble and put Ghana first in everything he/she does. He said “Every Ghanaian should exercise patience and if you are doing something that will affect the other, one must think that Ghana first”
