Private School Proprietors Plead Government For Assistance As School Resumes


During the update number 21 of the measures taken against the spread of the Convid 19 by the president of the country His Excellency Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo-Addo, it was stated that ” from 15th January our children in kindergarten, primary and Junior High in both private and public schools will be back to school”.

With this one of the proprietor of a private school named Ultimate International School in Techiman at the Bono East regional capital has congratulated the government of Ghana on his good effort to control the pandemic from spreading mostly among students.

Mr. David Boakye continued by appealing to the government to come to the aid of private schools in the country to assist them since school is about to resume and they play a major role in the country.

In an Exclusive interview with Osomafo Kwame Owusu, He said “During the covid era when the form two’s were in school, the government did his best by providing both private schools and public schools with mosquito nets and PPEs but provided registers and lesson note books for only public schools”

According to Mr. Boakye, the closure of the schools during the covid era has caused a lot of harm to the private schools which the government needs to assist them

He said since school was closed down, most of their infrastructures have broken down, they have no food to feed the students, they don’t have funds to finance the various schools and many other things which the assistance of the government is needed.

Finally Mr. Boakye appealed to the government to assist them to pay their teachers since they were not able to pay them during the covid era.
