The popularly used messaging app, WhatsApp has been initiating it’s newly updated terms and conditions this year. The company is giving their users two options: one, users have to agree to share their personal data with them, or two, the social media network app will terminate your account.

Their announcement of this new order was heard later in 2020 when the announcement broke out, many users have shared their comments and thought were many of them have criticised the company’s bad decision. Against all odds, the company still went on to execute their plan.

The requirement is being delivered through an in-app alert directing users to agree to sweeping changes in WhatsApp terms and services. Failure to accept this new condition of privacy policy will no longer be able to use WhatsApp by February 8.

This may come as a surprise because the Facebook-owned app claims to have “Privacy coded into its DNA”.  How can a company with such accreditation, sworn to protect the personal data asked forcely for personal data.

The following updated terms and privacy policy have been keyed to their updates:

● WhatsApp’s service and how we process your data.

● How Businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage their WhatsApp chats.

● How we partner with Facebook to offer integrations across the Facebook Company Products.
