Legon Cities finally end their winless run against WAFA at the Accra Sports Stadium after going straight seven games without a victory.

Joseph Adjei neatly converted a penalty kick in the 47th minute teenage sensation Matthew Anim Cudjoe was brought down in the penalty box.

The Royals were able to hold down to their lead despite a late red card shown to Defender Baba Mahama after he was seen obstructing the goal keeper of WAFA.

Coach Bashiru Hayford shared his happiness after the game in a post match interview with the experienced gaffer having his first win since taking over two months ago. He said;

“If today we won that means, Legon Cities can win matches. I am very pleased with the victory. But we would quickly put this behind us and prepare for the next game. We need more points to climb up to the table.

“This will be a natural booster for us going forward. Naturally, when you win games it motivates you to win the next, So I am very confident that we will build upon this victory”.

Legon Cities win will enable them leapfrog King Faisal Babies at the bottom of the 2020/2021 ongoing Ghana Premier League.
