Asante Kotoko beat Liberty Professionals 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 8 of the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League.

First half goals from striker Kwame Poku ensured Kumasi Asante Kotoko emerge victorious over Dansoman-based side Liberty Professionals in an exciting clash today at the famous  Accra Sports Stadium.

Brazilian signee Fabio Gama was handed his full debut by coach Johnson Smith for the Porcupine Warriors and the samba wasted no time in making headlines by assisting all two of Kwame Poku’s goals.

Asante Kotoko opened the scoring on the 10th minute when Kwame Poku chested down a Fabio Gama’s cross from the left flank side of the pitch before lashing home a beautiful shot to make the game 1-0.

Fabio Gama completed his second assist of the game when he skied a long yard pass to striker Poku and the lanky attacker made no mistake as he put Asante Kotoko 2-0 up to the good before the second half.

Kwame Poku was named the NASCO Man of the Match award after a brilliant performance from the big centre forward. The former Nkoranza forward has now scored 5 goals in 7 appearances featured for the Porcupine Warriors in the ongoing league campaign.

Asante Kotoko’s win move them to 6th on the league log with 12 points and one outstanding game with Ebusua Dwarfs.
