The Supreme Court has approved the request by the 2020 Presidential Candidate of the largest opposition in Ghana the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama for a live telecast of his Election Petition.
The supreme Court decided on its own to allow for a live telecast of proceedings with an explanation that there was no need for any argument.
The Former President, John Mahama who is disputing the Election 2020 results declared by the Electoral Commission at the supreme Court filed a motion to have the proceedings telecast live and another motion requesting for permission to correct some errors on his petition.
“The Supreme Court was of the view that there was no need to have argue that motion based on precedent. The court has made provision for the state broadcast to telecast proceedings.”
The request for the amendment of Mahama’s petition has been granted by the supreme court. The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, 19th January, 2021, for proper pre-trial Commence.
