Asante Kotoko Communications Director David Obeng Nyarko has praised interim coach Johnson Smith and revealed club management is pleased with his performance so far.
Johnson Smith then assistant coach for the club replaced Maxwell Konadu who was sacked over a month due to inconsistent run of performances for the club.
The club performance in recent weeks have changed with Asante Kotoko winning two and drawing once in three league outings despite thiet earlier exit from the CAF Champions League due to shortage of players aas the club were hit with positive COVID-19 cases.
Speaking in interview, Communications Director David Obeng Nyarko said;
“We believe we are getting there with the performances so far, Asante kotoko is a big club with great aims and ambitions. We have goals for this season and with a little patience from fans we will get there.
“Coach Johnson Smith was appointed on interim basis, we are pleased with with his output so far.We are still in talks with the technical team and very soon we will arrive at a decision which would be known to the public whether he maintains his good work or the need to bring in a new coach”.
Asante Kotoko face WAFA tomorrow Sunday January 17, 2021 at the WAFA Park in matchday 9 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
