England Qualify To The Quater-Finals Of The EURO 2020 After A 2-0 Victory Over Germany

The Three Lions, who had not beaten The Die Manschafft at a major tournament since 1996 breaks the record with a 2-0 victory in the ongoing European Championship.

Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Harry Maguire all had chances but England couldn’t find a first-half opener. Nor could Germany, with Timo Werner seeing his left-footed strike denied by Jordan Pickford.

Raheem Sterling did, however, found the opening goal in the second half as he touched past Manuel Neuer.

Thomas Muller then wasted a glorious opportunity to equalize for the Germans as he dragged wide before Harry Kane’s finish sealed a 2-0 win for England this time around.

Surprisingly, The Three Lions had not beaten the Die Manschafft at a major tournament since 1996 until now.

England, who won’t forget this remarkable victory any time soon, will have to come back down to earth and prepare for a quarter-final clash against Ukraine in Rome on Saturday.

Germany, who drop out of the Euros before the semi-final stage for the first time in three tournaments, next face Liechtenstein in September in the World Cup qualifiers.
